Los Angeles is Burning

These pictures were all taken today from my front yard.

! Amazing pictures, PT. It reminds me of when the San Gabriels were burning, but that was not nearly as close. I hope you have not had to evacuate.

that looks really close. How far are you from the park? Bummer reading about that. It sounds like a nice park.

The pictures don't do the visuals justice. There were swirling red flames spraying circles of glowing orange sparks. I realized it was beautiful, but I was too bummed out to appreciate the visuals. Most my favorite hiking spots have turned to ash. There were really big trees in that park.

On Monday, I hiked to a place called Bee Rock with a friend. I broke the Long Burn rule and did not take my camera. I wish I had. If the park is open tomorrow, I'm going to hike to Bee Rock and take some pictures. The LA Times describes the current state of Bee Rock, as "Bee Rock now resembles a moonscape."

Between my house and the fire, there is a series of stables, the Los Angeles River and a major highway, so the fire was very close.
